Green
In today’s world of unpredictable energy costs; it only makes sense to consider renewable energy sources.
At Healthy Home we take this very seriously and pride ourselves in being able to offer the most efficient products on the market today. The payoffs for a high efficiency system are not only monetary, but also offers a real sense of doing our part to keep energy costs and consumption down and living standards up.
All the air conditioning systems we install are charged with environmentally friendly refrigerant and we use EPA standards in recovering and recycling old refrigerant. Below is a list of products we can install for the energy and environmentally conscious customer.
Geothermal Heat Pumps
The geothermal heat pump, also known as the ground source heat pump, is a highly efficient renewable energy technology that is gaining wide acceptance for both residential and commercial buildings. Geothermal heat pumps are used for space heating and cooling, as well as water heating. The great advantage is that it works by concentrating naturally existing heat, rather than by producing heat through combustion of fossil fuels. The technology relies on the fact that the Earth (beneath the surface) remains at a relatively constant temperature throughout the year, warmer than the air above it during the winter and cooler in the summer, very much like a cave. The geothermal heat pump takes advantage of this by transferring heat stored in the Earth or in ground water into a building during the winter, and transferring it out of the building and back into the ground during the summer. The ground, in other words, acts as a heat source in winter and a heat sink in summer. The government also allows for a 30% Federal tax credit and up to a 35% State tax credit towards the installation of a geothermal system.
Solar Attic Fan
A solar attic fan is an excellent way to help keep your home comfortable during those hot summer months. These products can be easily installed and are relatively inexpensive to purchase. An attic fan can also be installed in nearly any kind of roof. A solar attic fan can help with many other aspects of home maintenance. By circulating the air in your attic you can help alleviate mold and bacteria problems by removing much of the moisture from the attic. They can also help vapor build-up as well. During the summer, a properly installed solar attic fan can save you as much as 30% on your home cooling costs. Since these fans operate on solar power, there is no additional electrical expense either. The government also allows a 30% Federal tax credit and up to a 35% State tax credit towards the installation of a new solar attic fan. At Healthy Home, we believe this is an inexpensive way to cut your energy bills and add value to your home.
Programmable Thermostats
If used as directed, a programmable thermostat can save you up to 33% on your energy bills. We will program your thermostat to adjust the temperature up or down when you are away from home or asleep. It is during these times you do not necessarily need optimum comfort. This allows for your comfort system to run less. Plus, your heating or cooling system will adjust automatically back to your desired comfort level when you awake or arrive home. At Healthy Home we believe this is a great way to cut your energy costs and add value to your home!
Hybrid or Duel Fuel System
With a traditional heating and cooling system, if you wanted to save more, you had to use it less. But a Hybrid Heat system combines the benefits of intelligent control for both gas and electric heating to create an intuitive system that can actually react to changing conditions. No matter what the temperatures outside, a Hybrid Heat system will automatically select the fuel source most efficient for your home. Which means you'll stay warm in the winter, cool in the summer and save money all year long. To learn more call us for an appointment.
